Health tips on a new sunny day in a new year 2022

 A hearty happy new year 2022 to all.

Let’s begin with a chant “Om Namah Shivay”.

It purifies our soul and mind.

To begin the new day with some health tips ..

1. Arise with positive energy, thoughts 

2. Do at least 3 minutes exercise daily

3. Expose yourself at least 5 minutes to sun, if moon is the beauty of God , sun is power. It is the natural source of vitamin D.

4. Eat healthy 

    A.  As  much green leafy vegetables and fruits. It aids in fighting free radicals in body and cancer

   B. Limit the fatty foods.

   C. Avoid junk fast foods

   D. Avoid smoking, alcohol

   E. Limit sugars in diet

   F. Limit processed foods like cakes, chocolates, chips, canned foods.

  G. In case of non-vegans,  fish can be added for healthy heart

  H. Add sunflower or safflower as cooking oil as rich source of PUFA. 

5. Tea lovers can have a cup of green tea daily as it fights obesity, cancer

6. Check BP regularly after 40.

7. Persons having long standing  diabetes should have eye check up annually besides renal function tests.

8. In low socioeconomic groups where iron deficiency anemia very prevalent , spinach and jaggery are rich sources of iron.

9. Persons above 55 years with epigastric pain ,silent myocardial infarction should be ruled out.

They should not be left with only PPI and antacids.

At least one ECG is must.

10. Fiber rich wholesome foods like cereals, oats , leafy greens vegetables reduce constipation, hemorrhoid, colitis and colon cancer.

11. Health insurance is badly needed nowadays. Everybody must ensure they are financially protected. 

11. Do meditate, relax your mind, end the day with a laughter. A day without a laugh is wasted. 

Famous comedian Charlie Chaplin once said I have six doctors 1. Sun.2. Rest 3. Diet 4. Exercise 5.Self-respect 6. Friends

Stick to them and enjoy a healthy life.
