Enonormous Health Hazards of Stress

Living without stress now a days is next to impossible. In this fragile materialistic world, importantance of being mentally fit is an uphill task.

Stress is burdened with simple anxiety to serious systemic diseases.

Anxiety disorders

Recurrent penetration of wrong negative thoughts leads to constant anxiety which subsequently leads to depression and psychosocial comorbidities.

Depression with Suicidal thoughts

Constant stress can lead to severe depression with suicidal thoughts. Life becomes worthless, hopelessness ensues which ultimately leads to suicidal thoughts.

Stress and Greying of hair

Stress causes release of noradrenaline which increases the turnover of hair stem cells leading to greying of hair. Increased turnover of mother stem cells with rapid depletion of hair colour producing pigments accelerate the greying of hair.

Stress with Peptic ulcer

Gastritis or acid peptic disorders are very common now a days. Stress affects the production of prostaglandin which form a protective barrier.

Stress also leads increased acid production and aggravates the situation.

Chances of ulceration of gastric mucosa is also increased.

Diabetes

The prevalence of diabetes is skyrocketing every year parallel with stress. Fluctuating blood sugar levels seen under the deleterious effects of stress hormones like cortisol and nor adrenaline.

Hypertension

Hypertension is very strongly correlated with stress. Hypertension is the major risk factor for most of the cardiovascular diseases along with stroke.

Stroke

Stroke or cardiovascular accident is the serious outcome of long standing stress. It leads to paralysis of limbs and affecting higher functions like speech.
